Thranduil is a main character in The Hobbit. Thranduil was the only child and son of Oropher, King of Mirkwood and father of Legolas Greenleaf. He is desperate for the necklace that once belonged to his wife and will do anything to get them back. Thranduil was portrayed by Lee Pace.
Early life (AUJ) Edit
Thranduil lost his father in the Last Alliance of Men and Elves, leaving Thranduil to rule his kingdom. He fathered a son named Legolas with a woman he loved very much and even had necklace made for her. However, he gave it to the dwarves to make it for him, but Thror would not give him the necklace, one of the reasons why Thranduil turned his back on the dwarves when they begged for help.
