History[]
An Unexpected Journey[]
The throne room is where Thror sat with Thorin and his line at his side. He later placed the king's jewel, the Arkenstone in a small area above him (believing it was his right to rule).
The Battle of the Five Armies[]
Many years later during The Battle of the Five Armies, Thorin summoned Bilbo, Dwalin and Balin to the throne room to discuss the fate of the Arkenstone. While Balin and Dwalin stood at the foot of the steps, Bilbo and Thorin stood in the higher level., but Thorin was looking at the throne as Bilbo stood by his side. Unknown to the trio of dwarves, Bilbo still has the stone in his pocket.
