History[]

Background[]

Óin was born TA 2774, four years after the dragon, Smaug took the Lonely Mountain. He studied to become a healer, but ultimately became half-deaf, leading Gloin to be somewhat overportective of Oin.

The Desolation of Smaug[]

Óin stayed in Lake-town to take care of an injured Kíli, with the help of Bofur (who overslept) and Fíli, who opted to stay to his brother. During their attempts to heal Kíli, Óin needs the kingsfoil that will help heal the wounded prince. Bofur instead goes to get the weed himself. However, they are attacked by Bolg's and Azog's Orcs, but are saved by Legolas and Tauriel.
